A neighborhood festival in the heart of Olgiata

Olgiata Day is the community event that annually brings together the residents of the Olgiata district, one of the most well-known residential areas in the northern part of Rome, along the Via Cassia. This is not a large city festival, but a true neighborhood celebration: a day designed by residents for residents, dedicated to social interaction, exchange, and the pleasure of gathering outdoors. The event is promoted by the Pro Olgiata Association in collaboration with the Olgiata Consortium and takes place in the Monticchio area, within the district.

The day's program

Olgiata Day spans an entire day, from morning until sunset. The heart of the event is the market, accompanied by games and a convivial aperitif that concludes the festivities:

• Car Boot Sale: the Anglo-Saxon style trunk sale, where participants display and sell used items directly from their own cars;
• Team games in the afternoon, to involve both adults and children in a moment of collective fun;
• Sunset aperitif, an opportunity for meeting and socializing at the end of the day.

The Car Boot Sale: the trunk market

The unique feature of Olgiata Day is the Car Boot Sale, a market format very popular in Anglo-Saxon countries and increasingly appreciated in Italy as well. Every resident can book their spot and turn their car trunk into a small stall: books, toys, clothing, household items, and curiosities change owners in an informal atmosphere focused on reuse. It is a chance to declutter, find a bargain, and, above all, meet the neighbors.

Games, socializing, and aperitifs

Beyond the market, Olgiata Day reserves space for play and conviviality. In the afternoon, team games enliven the Monticchio area with activities designed for families and young people, while the sunset aperitif closes the day in a relaxed atmosphere. It is the human and local dimension that defines this event: not a tourist showcase, but a way to strengthen the bonds of a community.

Nestled in the greenery between the Via Cassia and the Roman countryside, Olgiata is a residential area established in the 1960s, always characterized by a strong neighborhood identity: it is precisely from this spirit of belonging that Olgiata Day was born, organized by Pro Olgiata and supported by the Consortium that manages the district.
