Young pianists from the advanced training course perform in Scopello
Every summer, Valsesia becomes a hub for high-level musical training. In Scopello, a town in the Province of Vercelli, Piedmont, the Sala Polivalente hosts the Olga Zdorenko Masterclass Students' Concert, the grand finale of the piano perfection course held by the celebrated artist in Varallo. After days of intense lessons, listening sessions, and rehearsals, these young pianists take the stage, transforming a local hall into a professional concert venue.
A Ukrainian-born pianist with an international career, Olga Zdorenko comes from a family of musicians. She began her piano studies as a child, performing major romantic concertos at a very young age. An acclaimed concert performer and conservatory professor, she has dedicated much of her career to mentoring young musicians, guiding them through the nuances of touch, interpretation, and stage presence. Her Valsesia masterclass is the culmination of this pedagogical commitment.
The concert is designed as a celebration of music accessible to everyone: families, enthusiasts, tourists vacationing in the mountains, and curious locals gather to hear masterpieces of the classical and romantic repertoire performed by the students. It is a precious opportunity for the young musicians to face the thrill of the stage and a real audience, and for listeners to discover the talent of a new generation of pianists.
The event is part of the summer concert project promoted by the European Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with the municipalities of Valsesia, bringing classical music to the most evocative locations in the region, from Scopello to Alagna. For Scopello, a village at the foot of Monte Rosa, it is a way to enrich the summer with quality cultural offerings, blending the beauty of the Alpine landscape with the pleasure of live music.
The Olga Zdorenko Masterclass Students' Concert returns to Scopello on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 9:00 PM in the village's Sala Polivalente. The protagonists are the young pianists from the advanced course held by the pianist in Varallo, who perform live for the public after days of intensive lessons.
The evening is part of the summer concert season that the European Philharmonic Orchestra brings to the municipalities of Valsesia, between Scopello and Alagna, introducing residents and tourists to great classical and romantic music in an Alpine setting.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including the list of students and the pieces performed, will be announced in the weeks leading up to the concert. Following the course tradition, the evening will feature works from the classical and romantic piano repertoire interpreted by the young participants of Olga Zdorenko's masterclass.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM at the Sala Polivalente in Scopello.
