The Feuerwehrfest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Oberrasen is the summer event where the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Rasun di Sopra (Oberrasen) opens its doors to both residents and holidaymakers. Rasun di Sopra is a village within the municipality of Rasun-Anterselva / Rasen-Antholz, in the province of Bolzano, located in the heart of the Anterselva Valley (Antholzertal). This is one of the most picturesque side valleys in the South Tyrol region, famous for its biathlon arena and the alpine Lake Anterselva.
Two days of conviviality under the marquee
The event takes place in the village's festival square (Festplatz), where a large marquee is set up. On Friday, the festivities begin in the late afternoon and continue with dance music until late at night. Saturday is dedicated to families, featuring musical entertainment from the morning, a parade and concert by the Oberrasen Brass Band (Musikkapelle Oberrasen), and a performance by the folk dance group (Volkstanzgruppe Oberrasen), concluding with evening dance music.
South Tyrolean gastronomy and children's entertainment
True to the tradition of South Tyrolean fire brigade festivals, there is no shortage of typical local food: hot dishes, grilled specialties, homemade cakes, and classic draft beer served under the marquee. For the little ones, there is a bouncy castle (Hüpfburg) available on both days and a face painting corner in the afternoon, making the event perfect for the whole family.
A tradition in service of the community
As in most South Tyrolean villages, the Volunteer Fire Brigade is a pillar of community life: the proceeds from the festival help support the corps' activities, equipment, and training. Attending the Feuerwehrfest is a chance to experience an authentic moment of South Tyrolean folk tradition while making a concrete contribution to local volunteering.

The 2026 Feuerwehrfest of the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Rasun di Sopra (Oberrasen) takes place on Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th, 2026, in the village festival square in the Anterselva Valley (Municipality of Rasun-Anterselva, South Tyrol).
On Saturday, the festival kicks off in the late afternoon and continues with dance music in the evening. Sunday is dedicated to a full day of festivities: musical entertainment in the morning, the parade and concert by the Oberrasen Brass Band (Musikkapelle Oberrasen) in the early afternoon, followed by the performance of the folk dance group (Volkstanzgruppe Oberrasen), and closing with more dance music. A bouncy castle is available for children on both days, with a face painting corner on Sunday afternoon. Admission is free.

How to get there
Rasun di Sopra (Oberrasen) is located in the Anterselva Valley, a side valley of the Puster Valley, in the province of Bolzano. By car, take the SS49 Pusteria road and exit at Valdaora/Rasun, then continue towards the valley. By train, the reference station is Valdaora-Anterselva on the Pusteria line, followed by a bus connection (line 431) to the village.
Admission and hours
Free admission. Saturday from late afternoon until night, Sunday from morning until evening. The marquee is covered in case of bad weather.
Tips
The Anterselva Valley offers numerous accommodations for a summer stay filled with hiking, alpine lakes, and biathlon; it is advisable to book in advance for the mid-August period.
