A night of street arts and circus in the historic center of Racale
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Notte in Giallo is one of the most anticipated summer evenings in the historic center of Racale, a village in lower Salento, in the province of Lecce, Puglia Region. For one night, the streets, courtyards, and squares of the town—with its beating heart in Piazza San Sebastiano—turn into a sprawling stage where street art, contemporary circus, music, and immersive installations replace the daily routine and traffic.
The core idea of the festival is simple yet powerful: to reclaim public space for residents and visitors through art. Walking through the alleys of the old town, you will encounter acrobats and jugglers, fire dancers, urban theater and dance performances, street artists, and scenography that wraps around the house facades. The color yellow is the common thread of the evening: a symbol of energy, irony, and creativity, it tints posters, lights, and—for those who truly want to embrace the spirit of the festival—the attire of the audience, who are invited to wear something yellow.
Notte in Giallo is deeply rooted in the identity of Racale, whose inhabitants are affectionately called "pacci" (the mad ones) in local tradition: the theme of joyful madness and fantasy thus becomes the hallmark of the entire event. The festival is conceived by the InDisciplinati Cooperative together with artist Stella Grande and realized with the support of the Municipality of Racale and the Puglia Region, involving numerous local associations and organizations.
The evening is designed for a broad audience, especially families. Alongside the roving performances, there is a kids' area with creative workshops, face painting, and games, live music in the squares, and various street food stalls featuring Salento specialties. Admission is free, and the atmosphere remains that of a great village festival, where high-quality entertainment meets community participation.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced; however, the event remains a recurring fixture on the Racale summer calendar, awaited every year by residents and tourists visiting Salento.
The Notte in Giallo 2026 does not yet have an official date announced. Based on previous editions, the event is usually held on a late summer evening in the historic center of Racale (LE), with street art and circus performances, live music, a kids' area, and street food. The detailed program will be communicated by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
Racale is located in lower Salento, in the province of Lecce. By car, it can be reached via the SS274 Salentina Meridionale, taking the Racale/Taviano exit.
