The great summer evening of commerce and craftsmanship in the heart of the Bolognese Apennines
The Notte Bianca di Vergato is one of the most cherished summer events in the Municipality of Vergato, a town in the middle Reno valley in the province of Bologna, in the heart of the Bolognese Apennines in Emilia-Romagna. For one evening, the historic center is pedestrianized and transformed into a large shared space for music, commerce, and socialising, with shops open late and streets enlivened by shows and entertainment.
The formula of the Notte Bianca is the tried-and-tested one for large street parties: streets closed to traffic become pedestrian paths dotted with stalls, local craft exhibitions, refreshment points, and stages. Along the town's streets, there are concerts and live music, sports performances, entertainment for families, and shows that accompany residents and visitors until late at night.
The event was created as an evening dedicated to the commerce and craftsmanship of the area. The shops in the center remain open and offer initiatives, special offers, and entertainment, while bars and restaurants set up outdoor seating and refreshment points along the route. It is an opportunity to discover Vergato's businesses and to experience the town in a festive and convivial atmosphere, on one of the longest evenings of the year.
The event is organised by the Pro Loco of Vergato with the patronage of Confcommercio Ascom Bologna and the Municipality of Vergato, and is part of the rich calendar of White Nights and Street Festivals that liven up Bologna and its province during the summer. For Vergato, it is also a way to network local traders, associations, and the community, on an evening that has marked the start of the summer season in the Reno valley for years.
The 13th edition of the Notte Bianca di Vergato is confirmed for Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 8:00 PM, in the historic center of the Municipality of Vergato, in the province of Bologna. This year again, the town's streets will be pedestrianized and enlivened by shops open late, concerts, and live music, sports performances, local crafts, and numerous refreshment points.
The event, part of the White Nights and Street Festivals 2026 calendar for the province of Bologna, is promoted by the Pro Loco of Vergato with the patronage of Confcommercio Ascom Bologna and the Municipality. The detailed program for the evening, including times and artist names, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event.
