The Frecce Tricolori over the Noto coast: the only Sicilian stop for 2026
The Noto Air Show makes its debut in 2026, marking a historic event for the city of Noto, in the heart of the Val di Noto, in the province of Syracuse. For the first time, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, a UNESCO World Heritage site, welcomes the National Aerobatic Patrol of the Italian Air Force: the performance of the Frecce Tricolori over the Lido di Noto coastline is the only Sicilian stop on the 2026 aerobatic calendar, a rare opportunity to admire the green, white, and red smoke trails drawn over the sea.
The event, promoted by the Noto municipal administration led by Mayor Corrado Figura in collaboration with the Italian Air Force, spans four days. It opens on Thursday, June 25th, in Piazza Municipio, in the monumental heart of Noto, with a concert by the Italian Air Force Band, conducted by Maestro Pantaleo Leonfranco Cammarano. Saturday, June 27th, features the inauguration of the Air Force Village on the Lido di Noto promenade, followed by another band performance after the flight rehearsals.
Sunday, June 28th, is the main event. The exhibition village opens in the morning with vehicles, crews, and simulators; in the afternoon, the grand air show begins. The program includes a flyover by the Italian Air Force's HH139 Tricolore, performances by the Aero Club of Catania, and a long sequence of maneuvers and operational demonstrations by flight units.
Designed as a major public festival with free admission, the Noto Air Show combines the spectacle of aerobatics with the discovery of the territory. The setting of the Noto coast, just a few kilometers from the Baroque center and the Vendicari Reserve, offers a unique backdrop in Sicily: the show takes place directly over the sea, offering the public a rare visual experience. From its very first edition, the event aims to be the island's only major air show, capable of attracting thousands of visitors to Noto and the entire province of Syracuse.
The 2026 inaugural edition opens Thursday, June 25th at 8:30 PM in Piazza Municipio with a concert by the Italian Air Force Band, conducted by Maestro Pantaleo Leonfranco Cammarano. Saturday, June 27th, at 3:30 PM, the Air Force Village at Lido di Noto will be inaugurated, with another band performance following the flight rehearsals. Sunday, June 28th is the main day: exhibition village opens in the morning, air show starts in the afternoon with the HH139 Tricolore flyover, Aero Club of Catania performances, SAR demonstration, and flyovers by the Navy, Fire Brigade, Coast Guard, Police, Financial Guard, Carabinieri, and Army.
