The Brazilian community festival in Rome featuring samba, forró, and authentic cuisine at Tram Depot
Noite Brasileira is the festival through which Rome's Brazilian community brings the rhythms, dances, and flavors of Brazil to the capital. Held in the garden of Tram Depot on Via Corrado Alvaro, the event stems from the Sabor Brasil - Festa Brasiliana association's desire to share the South American country through its most authentic expressions: folk music, dance, cuisine, and social connection. The evening is part of the Festa Junina spirit, the grand tradition of festivities that brings Brazil to life throughout the month of June.
The program is designed as a sonic journey across Brazil. It begins with samba, the iconic dance of Brazilian culture, and continues with forró, the partner dance typical of the Northeast. The highlight is the live concert dedicated to Forró Pé de Serra, the most authentic and infectious repertoire from the Northeast, performed with accordion, zabumba, triangle, pandeiro, string instruments, and trombone: a warm, engaging sound that invites everyone to dance under the stars.
Alongside the music, Brazilian gastronomy takes center stage, curated by a chef from the community. Visitors can savor traditional dishes and Brazilian specialties in an informal and welcoming atmosphere, where food becomes a way to share culture and connect. The outdoor garden setting makes the evening perfect for families, friends, and anyone curious to experience a piece of Brazil without leaving Rome.
Noite Brasileira is much more than a concert: it is a meeting point for the large Brazilian community in the capital and for all Romans passionate about South American culture. In the Centocelle neighborhood of Rome's V Municipality, the festival turns the Tram Depot garden into a hub of rhythm, dance, and community, right in the middle of the city's summer. Free admission makes it an event open to all, symbolizing the ever-growing bond between Brazil and Rome, the capital of the Lazio region.
The 2026 edition of Noite Brasileira took place on Sunday, June 21, for the Festa della Musica, in the Tram Depot garden on Via Corrado Alvaro in Rome. From 7:00 PM, chef Debora Cabral opened the evening with traditional Brazilian cuisine, followed by a rich musical program: samba with Talita Melo, forró with Forró Roma, and a live concert by the Coletivo Beija Flor, dedicated to the Forró Pé de Serra of the Northeast. A free and well-attended festival that brought the soul of Brazil into the heart of the Roman summer.
