The Casilino Sky Park is arguably the most successful urban experiment of the Roman summer in recent years. The concept is as simple as it is radical: instead of consuming new land, we reclaim what already exists. Thus, the fourth-floor terrace of the Multipark on Viale della Bella Villa 106, in Rome—located in the city's eastern quadrant and the V Municipio territory—has become an open-air public square, suspended seventeen meters above street level, bordering the Alessandrino and Casilino neighborhoods.
The project is signed by Fusolab 2.0, an organization that has been building community cultural infrastructure in this part of Rome for over twenty years. It stems from a precise conviction: the suburbs do not need to go to the city center to have fun; they can become the center of something themselves. The result is a space that hosts tens of thousands of people during the summer season, with an intergenerational audience ranging from families with strollers in the late afternoon to young people staying until 2:00 AM.
Many souls in one place
What distinguishes the Casilino Sky Park from a simple summer arena is its hybrid nature. The terrace is organized into thematic areas that coexist on the same evening: the Live Arena for concerts, the Street Food area with cuisines from all over the world, the Games Area, the Children's Area, the Sports Area, the Solunarium, a panoramic track, the Art District dedicated to street art, and a Lounge & Party space.

There is no shortage of anniversaries for the entities that have made the history of the capital's urban culture, celebrated with dedicated evenings.
Cinema and comedy under the stars
On Tuesdays, the terrace turns into an open-air theater: Cinema on the Roof offers screenings preceded by a talk with actors, directors, and guests from the world of Italian cinema. Wednesdays are dedicated to stand-up comedy, with a program curated by comedians from the Roman scene that brings monologues, open mics, and new formats to the rooftop.
How entry works
Access to the Casilino Sky Park is always free, subject to signing up for the annual Fusolab membership card. Some concerts in the Live Arena may require a dedicated ticket, while cinema and stand-up comedy nights remain free for members. It is a formula that balances the project's economic sustainability with the idea that a public space should remain accessible to everyone.
A model for the Roman suburbs
In the landscape of summer events in Lazio and the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, the Casilino Sky Park occupies a unique position: it is not a festival imposed from above, but the product of deep territorial roots. The fact that one of the liveliest places of the Roman summer is a converted parking lot a stone's throw from the Grande Raccordo Anulare says a lot about how the city's cultural geography is changing. Those who visit for the first time are struck by the view: the sunset over the rooftops of East Rome, with the Castelli Romani in the background on clear days, is worth the climb alone.

Four months of suspended summer
The Casilino Sky Park 2026 opens on May 28 and continues until September 30, extending the season well beyond the classic boundaries of the Roman summer. The Multipark terrace on Viale della Bella Villa remains open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
A schedule covering the whole week
The strength of this edition lies in the regularity of the calendar: every day of the week has its own identity, from cinema on Tuesdays to comedy on Wednesdays, from major weekend concerts to Sunday theater. In between, there is sports programming with screenings of the 2026 World Cup on giant screens, street art installations in the Art District, and international culinary offerings in the street food area.
Access and tickets
Entry is free with the 2026 annual Fusolab membership card; some concerts in the Live Arena require a dedicated ticket, with prices varying depending on the event. The internal parking lot provides approximately 600 free spaces.

- Wednesday — Stand-up comedy: Misunderstandup festival, curated by the collective of the same name with Cecilia Forastieri and Patty Colucci, featuring comedians from the Roman scene. Free entry with card.
