The Cheese Festival is the food and wine event of Nogarole Vicentino, a municipality in the province of Vicenza located between the Agno and Chiampo valleys. Dedicated to cheeses and local typical products, it highlights the cheesemaking tradition of the Vicenza hills, where pastures and mountain huts produce high-quality cheeses.

Food and market

The heart of the festival is the rich food stand, where you can taste local cheeses, fioretta gnocchi — made with the whey from the first milk processing — cured meats, sandwiches, fries, and regional specialties, with gluten-free options also available. Alongside the stands, a market of producers and artisans offers cheeses, De.Co. products, and local specialties, in a journey of taste and discovery through the traditions of the valleys.

The Caminada dei Capitei

The most loved and anticipated initiative of the festival is the 'Caminada dei Capitei', a non-competitive walk that winds through the hills and hamlets of Nogarole Vicentino along three routes of 7, 12, and 19 kilometers, with refreshment points along the way. The name refers to the votive chapels scattered in the countryside, small testimonies of popular devotion. The event, organized by the Pro Loco Nogarole Vicentino, thus combines taste, sport, and landscape discovery in a spring weekend.
