The Christmas village that turns Noicattaro into a little Apulian Rovaniemi
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Noelcattaro is the Christmas event that turns the center of Noicattaro—an agricultural town in the Metropolitan City of Bari known for its vineyards—into a grand Christmas village every December. The name itself, a play on words between the town's name and the French Noël, captures the spirit of the initiative: bringing the magical atmosphere of northern Christmas capitals to the streets of the village, starting with Rovaniemi, the Finnish city considered the home of Santa Claus.
For two weeks, the streets of the center, including Piazza Umberto I, Via Carmine, and Via Console Positano, are filled with lights, artificial snow, roaming music, and scenic displays that immerse residents and visitors in the holiday spirit.
The beating heart of the event is Santa's House, set up inside the Palazzo della Cultura. Here, children can meet Santa Claus, deliver their letters, and immerse themselves in meticulously detailed scenery, complete with decorations, colors, and fairytale settings. The inauguration officially kicks off the Christmas season with a party dedicated to families.
The Noelcattaro program focuses heavily on entertainment spread throughout the town center. Throughout the days, there are roaming performances, mini parades led by Santa Claus, giant mascots of characters beloved by children, live music, and circus acrobatics performed by stilt walkers and street artists. The goal is to enliven the entire urban fabric, turning a simple walk downtown into an engaging experience for all ages.
One of the most anticipated moments is the setup of the Santa Claus Village in the Salone Parnaso, curated by Wonderland Eventi. The space is transformed into a Nordic landscape rich in evocative details, featuring Santa's house, small rides for children, magic and juggling shows, and gospel concerts that warm up the evenings with modern reinterpretations of Christmas traditions.
All Noelcattaro initiatives are free and open to the public, with the patronage of the Municipality of Noicattaro and organized by Wonderland Eventi. The event, which has grown with each edition, has become one of the most cherished Christmas appointments in the area south of Bari, capable of attracting families from neighboring towns as well.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the program and the final calendar are generally communicated in the weeks leading up to the opening through the event's official social media channels. As per tradition, the event remains scheduled for the month of December.
Information regarding the 2026 edition of Noelcattaro will be published as soon as the organization (Wonderland Eventi, with the patronage of the Municipality of Noicattaro) releases the dates and program. The event is traditionally held in December in the center of Noicattaro.
Noelcattaro takes place in the center of Noicattaro (BA), between the Palazzo della Cultura, the Salone Parnaso, Piazza Umberto I, Via Carmine, and Via Console Positano.
