An evening celebrating the bond between Noci and its citizens around the world
Nocesi nel Mondo is one of the most heartfelt evenings of the summer in Noci, a town in Puglia nestled over 400 meters above sea level on the Bari Murgia, between Bari and Taranto, in the heart of the Land of the Trulli. Promoted by the Municipality of Noci, the event celebrates the deep connection between the local community and the many citizens who have emigrated or live far from their hometown, returning in summer to reconnect with family, friends, and their roots.
The event has its roots in the traditional Serata dell'Emigrante (Emigrant's Evening), a historic appointment through which Noci paid tribute to its children who left for Northern Italy or abroad in search of work. From this collective memory, Nocesi nel Mondo was born, renewing that spirit with a contemporary flair: a large public festival open to everyone, where the community gathers to recognize itself in a shared identity—the Nocese identity—that transcends geographical borders.
The heart of the evening is the free-entry concert held in Piazza Garibaldi, the living room of the modern town that opens just beyond Porta Putignano, at the gates of the historic center. The square fills with residents and visitors for an evening of live music that brings together multiple generations in the popular festive atmosphere typical of Puglian summers.
Nocesi nel Mondo is part of the rich Noci Summer calendar, which brings music, theater, cinema, sports, and tradition to Noci from June to October with events such as the Noci Jazz Festival, the Chiostri e Inchiostri festival, the Noci Film Fest, and initiatives from the Pietramadre project. In this context, the evening dedicated to Nocesi around the world represents one of the most significant and well-attended moments, capable of transforming Piazza Garibaldi into a meeting point for those who stayed and those who returned.
Attending Nocesi nel Mondo is also an opportunity to discover Noci, a village in the Murgia known for its historic center made of 'gnostre' (small courtyards) and whitewashed alleys, for the trulli in the surrounding countryside, and for a gastronomic tradition linked to olive oil, dairy products, and Puglian peasant cuisine. An authentic destination in the Bari hinterland, far from the coastal crowds but close to the most famous spots in the Itria Valley.
The 2026 edition of Nocesi nel Mondo is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, starting in the evening around 9:00 PM, in Piazza Garibaldi in Noci (BA). The star of the evening is the singer Mietta, born Daniela Miglietta, a Puglian voice loved by the general public, who will perform in a free-entry concert.
The evening, promoted by the municipal administration of Noci, renews the tradition of the Emigrant's Evening and welcomes Nocese citizens who have returned to town for the summer, together with residents and visitors. The event is part of the Noci Summer 2026 program, full of music, theater, cinema, and culture from June to October.
Piazza Garibaldi, in the center of Noci (BA), Puglia. Admission to the concert is free.
By car: Noci is accessible via the SS172 'dei Trulli' road, a short distance from Putignano, Alberobello, and Gioia del Colle; the nearest motorway exit is Gioia del Colle on the A14. By train: Noci station is on the Ferrovie del Sud Est line, connected to Bari and Taranto.
The evening takes place in the height of summer: we recommend arriving early to find a spot in the square. The event is ideal to combine with a stay among the trulli of the Itria Valley.
