New Year's Eve in Prato della Valle is the grand year-end event in Padua, organized by the Municipality in one of Europe's largest squares. With a stage set up on the side of Palazzo Angeli, New Year's Eve attracts over 20,000 people to welcome the new year together.
A Thousand Drones Instead of Fireworks
The innovation that has made this New Year's Eve famous is the spectacular show of a thousand luminous drones: a sustainable choice that replaces traditional fireworks. In about fifteen minutes, aerial choreographies tell the story of Padua – the medieval city and its towers, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Basilica of Saint Anthony, the Scrovegni Chapel – with a tribute to Galileo Galilei and his armillary sphere, culminating in the midnight toast.
Music Until Late
The evening opens with a DJ set and entertainment by Radio Company and continues after midnight with live music covering hits from the '90s and 2000s, in an open and free celebration for the entire city.

Padua's 2026 New Year's Eve transformed Prato della Valle into a grand open-air theater, with the stage set up on the side of Palazzo Angeli. The spectacular show of a thousand luminous drones replaced traditional fireworks for a "no bangs" New Year's Eve, attracting over 20,000 people.

- 11:45 PM — Show of 1,000 luminous drones: 15 choreographies telling the story of Padua (the medieval city and its towers, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Basilica of Saint Anthony, the Scrovegni Chapel, the passage of Halley's Comet, the armillary sphere in tribute to Galileo Galilei, the Torlonga, city monument skylines, and the Municipal coat of arms)

- After Midnight — Live concert featuring modern interpretations of hits from the '90s and 2000s
