The amateur singing competition of Serravalle di Carda, on Monte Nerone
The Nerone d'Oro is the amateur singing competition that for years has been one of the most cherished events of the summer in Serravalle di Carda, a charming hamlet in the Municipality of Apecchio, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Apennine heart of the Marche region. The village, located about 800 meters above sea level on the slopes of Monte Nerone, provides a natural setting for two evenings of live music that fill the central square with crowds, voices, and cheer.
The Nerone d'Oro is a competition designed for amateurs: the protagonists are non-professional singers, especially the younger ones, who take the stage to perform before the community and a jury. It is not just a competition, but above all a great village festival where music becomes an occasion for intergenerational encounters, between those who return to the village for holidays and those who live there all year round. The atmosphere is that of authentic and familiar mountain festivals in the Marche region, where the warmth of the audience matters as much as the skill on stage.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Serravalle di Carda e Monte Nerone APS, an association active for decades in promoting the territory and animating village life. In addition to the Nerone d'Oro, the Pro Loco curates a rich calendar of initiatives including the famous Passio in spring, the Festa della Montagna (Mountain Festival), and the Sagra della Coradella d'Agnello (Lamb Coradella Festival), which make Serravalle di Carda a reference point for those who love the Marche Apennines and Monte Nerone.
If you are looking for an authentic summer event, far from big stages and immersed in the nature of the Apennines, the Nerone d'Oro in Serravalle di Carda is the right appointment to experience an evening of music and tradition in the truest Marche.
The Nerone d'Oro 2026 returns to Serravalle di Carda, a hamlet of Apecchio (PU), on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, starting at 9:15 PM in the village's central square.
