The Marche capital of white truffle

The National Fair of the White Truffle of Pergola is one of the most anticipated food and wine events of the Marche autumn. Every year, on the first Sundays of October, the historic center of the Municipality of Pergola, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, comes alive to celebrate Tuber Magnatum Pico, the precious white truffle that grows in the woods of the Cesano Valley. The fair traditionally opens the Italian season of major events dedicated to this tuber, preceding the more famous fairs of Central Italy.

The village of the Golden Bronzes

Pergola is not just a land of truffles: since 2018 it has been part of the prestigious circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and houses a treasure unique in the world, the Golden Bronzes, the most important gilded bronze group from the Roman era that has survived to our time. During the fair, visitors can combine gastronomic discovery with a visit to the museum that preserves these extraordinary equestrian statues, thus experiencing an event that intertwines taste, art, and history in the heart of the Marche.

Stands, flavors, and show cooking

The village is divided into several thematic areas. In Piazza Ginevri is the Truffle House, a showcase of excellence where you can admire and purchase the prized tuber; along Corso Matteotti and Via Don Minzoni are the stands with food and wine specialties from all over Italy, while Viale Martiri della Libertà hosts the commercial fair. There are also traditional dishes enhanced by truffles: tagliolini, eggs, carpaccio, and cheeses, to be enjoyed at the stands in the center.
