Musica in Periferia is a series of free concerts that, during the summer of 2026, brings live music away from the historic center of Ferentino, in the heart of the Ciociaria region, in the province of Frosinone and southern Lazio. The concept is simple yet generous: reach the peripheral neighborhoods, often left on the fringes of cultural programming, and transform their courtyards, cloisters, and squares into genuine open-air stages. Following the success of its debut, the initiative returns in 2026 for its second edition.

Five evenings between June and August

The schedule spans the entire summer with five events, one for every corner of the city. Each evening is designed as a community celebration, where music becomes an opportunity for different generations to meet and a tool to mend the town's social fabric. The stops include some of the most evocative locations in the outskirts of Ferentino:

Admission to all evenings is completely free, ensuring that music remains accessible to everyone, including families and the elderly.

A social project, even before a musical one

Behind Musica in Periferia lies the established synergy between two local organizations: the association Andromeda APS and Anteas Frosinone. Their stated goal is to demonstrate how music can become the most powerful social glue available to a community, bringing the center and the suburbs closer together and restoring an active role to the neighborhoods in the city's cultural life. It is not just a simple concert lineup, but a true project of social regeneration through song.

Ferentino and the Ciociaria

The festival is also a way to rediscover Ferentino, a city of ancient origins perched on a hill overlooking the Sacco Valley. Its historic center, enclosed by powerful polygonal walls and rich in monuments such as the acropolis and the Abbey of Sant'Antonio Abate, coexists with more recent neighborhoods that, thanks to Musica in Periferia, are returning to the center stage. A concert evening thus becomes an opportunity to stroll through the alleys, soak up the Ciociarian atmosphere, and discover an authentic corner of the province of Frosinone.
