The Barletta Music Festival at the GOS Auditorium, featuring swing, jazz, and signature sounds
Every year, around June 21st, the Music Festival transforms Italian cities into a vast, widespread stage to celebrate the summer solstice. In Barletta, in the BAT province (Barletta-Andria-Trani, Puglia), the event centers on the GOS Auditorium - Giovani Open Space, where the Beathoven Cultural Association APS presents a program dedicated to jazz and contemporary sounds.
The GOS is an urban laboratory created from the restoration of a portion of the former Barletta Distillery, an example of early 20th-century industrial archaeology. Spanning over a thousand square meters, it houses an auditorium, rehearsal rooms, recording studios, and event spaces: a cultural hub that has made the Viale Marconi district a landmark for live music in the city.
The heart of the Music Festival organized by Beathoven is ยซNote in Swingยป, a concert by the Soundiff Jazz Ensemble featuring the voice of Annamaria Carrieri. The evening explores the warmest and most refined jazz atmospheres: swing standards from the 1930s and 40s, bebop classics, cool jazz and Latin jazz sounds, famous film themes reinterpreted with a jazz twist, and Italian songs revisited with modern arrangements. Collective improvisation, the hallmark of the jazz language, makes every performance unique and unrepeatable.
The Soundiff ensembles, linked to the GOS and recognized by the Ministry of Culture, showcase young musicians from the Puglia region. The festival is part of a rich season (from the ApuliaSuona Festival to the Young Concerts) that makes the GOS Auditorium one of the most vibrant musical venues in northern Puglia, supported by the Municipality of Barletta, the Puglia Region, and the Chamber of Commerce.
It is an opportunity to experience jazz in an intimate and curated setting, away from large stages but with high artistic quality and an accessible ticket price. Those visiting Barletta in June can combine the concert with a tour of the historic center, the Colossus of Heraclius, and the famous Swabian-Angevin Castle.
For the 2026 Music Festival, the Beathoven Cultural Association presented two events at the GOS Auditorium in Barletta, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region (POC 21-27), and the Bari Chamber of Commerce.
The first evening, dedicated to soundtracks that made cinema history and the brass tradition, featured the Soundiff Brass. The second evening, on the day of the solstice, celebrated jazz with ยซNote in Swingยป, a journey through swing, bebop, cool jazz, and Latin jazz led by the voice of Annamaria Carrieri.
