About Munta e China
Walking in the Savona Hinterland
In Rialto, a small inland municipality in the province of Savona, Munta e China is the traditional non-competitive May 1st march. The name, in Ligurian dialect, evokes the continuous ups and downs of the route, immersed in the suggestive trails and landscapes of the Rialto territory, at the foot of the Savona heights.
A Route for Everyone
The course is about 10 kilometers long, starting from the church of Rialto and with three refreshment points along the way. The event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, to be completed within a maximum of four hours, and also welcomes four-legged friends.
Feast and Conviviality
Upon return, the pasta party concludes the morning with joy. Organized by A.S.D. Polisportiva Rialtese, Munta e China combines sport, nature, and conviviality in one of the classic May 1st outings in the western Ligurian hinterland.
Munta e China — edition 2026
For 2026, Munta e China returns on May 1st in Rialto. Registration opens at 8:00 AM at the village church, from where the non-competitive 10-kilometer march through the territory's trails begins at 9:00 AM. Along the route, three refreshment points are planned, while a pasta party will be held upon return. The fee is 16 euros for adults and 6 euros for children under 10; in case of bad weather, the event is postponed to the following Sunday.

How to get there
By car: from the Finale Ligure coast, head inland towards Rialto. A10 motorway exit: Finale Ligure.
Registration
