The historic parade of floats in Motta di Livenza
The Motta di Livenza Carnival is the traditional carnival celebration of Motta di Livenza, a town on the Sinistra Piave in the province of Treviso. With a history spanning decades — the 2026 edition is the 78th — it represents one of the most anticipated events of the Motta winter, capable of attracting families and curious visitors from all over the region.
The heart of the event is the parade of allegorical floats, rich in color and creativity, which wind through the streets of the center and gather in Piazza Luigi Luzzatti. Amidst confetti, masks, and music, the large floats liven up the festive afternoons with the typical fantasy of the Venetian Carnival.
One day is particularly dedicated to the Children's Carnival, with entertainment and masks for the little ones (with the possibility of transfer to the Patronato Don Bosco in case of bad weather). The Pro Loco's food stands offer the flavors of carnival tradition: fritters, mulled wine, popcorn, hot tea, and hot chocolate.
The Motta di Livenza Carnival is organized by Pro Loco Motta di Livenza APS in collaboration with the Municipality of Motta di Livenza. Admission is free for all days, in a celebration that combines tradition, community, and fun for all ages.
The 2026 edition, the 78th, of the Motta di Livenza Carnival spans three days: Sunday, February 8, Sunday, February 15, and Tuesday, February 17, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, in Piazza Luigi Luzzatti in Motta di Livenza (TV).
