The September festival of the hamlet of Grassaga
The Madonna della Cintura Celebrations are the festival of the hamlet of Grassaga, in San Donà di Piave, in the province of Venice. The festival is dedicated to Our Lady of the Belt, a title linked to the Augustinian origins of the parish. Although the Madonna is venerated in August, the festival is traditionally celebrated in September, when, after the grape harvest, the community can finally dedicate itself to the celebration.
The celebrations are spread over three weekends in September, in the parish park of Grassaga, where a covered structure allows the festival to be enjoyed protected from any weather. It is a well-established organization, the result of the work of volunteers from the parish and the hamlet.
The program includes a food stand with traditional Venetian dishes, a charity raffle, an art exhibition, and a play area for children. A mix of taste, devotion, and fun that makes Grassaga, a hamlet of San Donà di Piave, a point of reference for September festivals in eastern Veneto.
For 2026, the hamlet of Grassaga, in San Donà di Piave, renews the Madonna della Cintura Celebrations. The festival takes place over three September weekends, in the parish park, with the usual formula combining devotion and village celebration.
The detailed schedule for the 2026 edition will be announced by the parish of Grassaga. Based on recent editions, the celebrations are spread over three September weekends and include:
