The widespread Christmas of San Donà
NataleInsieme is the Christmas program of San Donà di Piave, in the province of Venice, which from the beginning of December until Epiphany transforms the historic center into a large festive village. Lights, decorations, Christmas houses, markets, and a packed calendar of events accompany citizens and visitors for over a month.
Markets, parades, and shows
The program includes markets like Cento Passioni, exhibitions, creative workshops, Christmas parades with stilt walkers and musicians, choral concerts, and live performances. There are also events dedicated to children, from the Magica Bottega degli Elfi (Magic Elf Workshop) to activities at the Leonardo da Vinci Cultural Center, the Children's Library, and the Bonifica Museum.
End-of-festival traditions
Among the most cherished moments are the arrival of Santa Claus in Piazza Indipendenza on Christmas Eve and, on January 5th, the traditional Pan e Vin (Bread and Wine) by the Bersaglieri along the Piave river and the Befana parade. Organized by the Municipality of San Donà di Piave with local associations and Ascom Servizi, NataleInsieme is the main winter event in eastern Veneto.
NataleInsieme — edition 2026
For Christmas 2026, the Municipality of San Donà di Piave is re-proposing NataleInsieme, the Christmas program that animates the historic center from early December until January 6. As every year, lights and decorations, markets, Christmas houses, parades, concerts, workshops for children, and the traditional end-of-festival events are expected.
Programme NataleInsieme 2026
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Municipality in the autumn. Based on previous editions, the program typically includes:
- Start in early December with the Cento Passioni market, the Xmas Fever photography exhibition, and an inaugural parade with stilt walkers and musicians
- During the holidays: Magic Elf Workshop with creative workshops, Christmas parades, choral concerts, and live bands, light and music shows in the pedestrian streets
- On Christmas Eve: arrival of Santa Claus in Piazza Indipendenza and "Notes of Christmas Eve" concert
- On New Year's Day: concert by the Veneto Classical Orchestra at the Teatro Metropolitano Astra
- On January 5: traditional Pan e Vin by the Bersaglieri at the Piave river and Befana parade
