The widespread festival of engines and innovation in the heart of the Motor Valley
Motor Valley Fest is the festival celebrating the automotive excellence of Emilia-Romagna, the region that is home to some of the most prestigious brands in the world. For four days, the historic center of Modena, in the heart of the Province of Modena, becomes a widespread stage where industry, technological innovation, culture, and popular passion meet. The event is promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region together with the Municipality of Modena, the Motor Valley Development Association, and ACI, with the support of the major manufacturers in the region.
The event features over fifty appointments spread across squares, theaters, museums, and symbolic locations in the city. The program intertwines two souls: on one hand, international conferences dedicated to the major transformations in the automotive and manufacturing sectors (artificial intelligence, energy transition, digitalization, autonomous driving); on the other, exhibitions, parades, and dynamic events designed for the general public and enthusiasts.
The institutional heart of the festival is hosted at the Teatro Storchi and in Modena's cultural venues. The opening ceremony kicks off a series of conferences with hundreds of international speakers, while the renowned Motor Valley Top Table brings together the leaders of the symbolic brands of the Motor Valley — Dallara, Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Pagani — for a discussion on the future of mobility. There is also space for young people, with Talent Talks dedicated to students and professionals, and with orientation initiatives related to technical training in the region.
Among the most popular events is the Formula SAE in Piazza Grande, the international engineering competition where Italian university teams compete with their single-seater prototypes. Over the weekend, the city fills with supercars, hypercars, and motorcycles on display, parades, and gatherings, culminating in the refined Concours d'Élégance dedicated to vintage and collectible cars. The doors of museums and automotive collections remain open late, offering enthusiasts a total immersion in the history and technology of automobiles.
A strong point of Motor Valley Fest is its free and open nature: squares, exhibitions, and parades are accessible to everyone, making Modena an unmissable destination for families, the curious, and engine enthusiasts from all over Italy and abroad for an entire weekend.
The 2026 edition opened on Thursday, May 28, at the Teatro Storchi with the international conference dedicated to the new frontiers of technology and human responsibility, followed by the Motor Valley Top Table with the leaders of Dallara, Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Pagani. The Formula SAE animated Piazza Grande for all four days with teams from Italian universities.
The weekend featured parades of supercars and motorcycles, rallies like Motors & Coffee, the De Tomaso rally, and the "Rosse e non solo" parade, culminating in the awards ceremony for the Concours d'Élégance. On display were hypercars such as the Ferrari Amalfi Spider, the Lamborghini Urus SE, and the Pagani Utopia Roadster, with over two hundred international speakers at the conferences.
The festival is spread throughout the historic center of Modena: Piazza Grande, Teatro Storchi, Accademia Militare, and the main cultural venues of the city.
By train: Modena station is on the Milan-Bologna line, a few minutes' walk from the historic center. By car: highway exits Modena Nord and Modena Sud (A1 and A22); during the event, traffic restrictions are in place in the center, so it's advisable to use peripheral parking lots. By plane: Bologna airport is about 40 km away.
Admission to the widespread events, exhibitions, and parades is free. Some conferences and visits may require registration: consult the official program on motorvalley.it.
