Three days of engines, plowing, and peasant tradition in the Faenza countryside
In the hamlet of Sant'Andrea, along Via Granarolo in the countryside of the Municipality of Faenza (Province of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna), the Motoaratura Sant'Andrea is one of the most characteristic festivals with which Romagna bids farewell to the end of summer. For an entire weekend, the fields transform into a large open-air stage where the peasant world puts on a show: when the tractors of the motoaratura roar, agricultural tradition becomes a village festival.
The heart of the event is the competition between agricultural machinery, vintage and modern, engaged in plowing demonstrations: from old tractors of the seventies to tracked and wheeled vehicles of hundreds of horsepower, with plows ranging from a single furrow to six furrows. Alongside plowing, the spectacular Speed Pulling and the characteristic Romagnolo Sgador Pulling competitions take place, tests of strength and traction that attract enthusiasts from all over the region.
There are also vintage car and motorcycle rallies, off-road and 4x4 trials along the Lamone river, and other events dedicated to engines of all kinds. Sunday morning is traditionally marked by the blessing of agricultural machinery, a sign of the strong bond between the farming community and the parish of Sant'Andrea.
Throughout the festival, a large gastronomic stand is open to welcome entire families, where you can taste the best Romagnolo specialties and traditional dishes in a jovial and festive atmosphere. The evenings come alive with live music, DJ sets, and the collaboration with the beer festival, which transform the Faenza countryside into a meeting point for young and old.
The Motoaratura Sant'Andrea is more than just a technical demonstration: it is a true journey between past and present that combines technological attention to agriculture with motor exhibitions. For those visiting the Province of Ravenna and Romagna, it is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic face of the territory, made of land, engines, good food, and community spirit.
The Motoaratura Sant'Andrea 2026 takes place from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, 2026 in the fields of Sant'Andrea, along Via Granarolo in Faenza (RA). As tradition dictates, the event offers an intense weekend of engines and spectacle dedicated to agriculture and Romagnolo peasant culture.
The detailed program day by day, with schedules, musical lineup, and competitions, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event on the official Facebook and Instagram pages of Motoaratura. The usual structure includes demonstrations of plowing with vintage and modern tractors, Speed Pulling and Sgador Pulling competitions, rallies of historic vehicles, off-road trials along the Lamone, evenings with live music and DJ sets, and a gastronomic stand with traditional dishes.
