2026 Edition
The 2026 Moricone Befana Festival concluded a long calendar of Christmas events organized by the Pro Loco of Moricone with the patronage of the Municipality and the Monti Lucretili Regional Natural Park. After the markets and bingo nights in December, from January 2nd to 6th, the festival focused on Piazza Sante Aureli, the heart of the village, with a marquee that allowed the public to be hosted even on the coldest evenings.
The program alternated between social and musical moments, culminating on January 6th with the arrival of the Befana and the distribution of stockings to children. Participation was free for almost all events, with the exception of social gatherings requiring reservations.

How to get there
By car from Rome: Take the Via Salaria (SS4) to the Monteflavio-Moricone junction, approximately 45 minutes. From the A1 motorway, take the Fiano Romano exit and follow the SS4 towards Rieti.
By public transport
Cotral bus lines from Rome (Tiburtina station) with a stop in Moricone; service is limited on public holidays, so it is advisable to check the schedule in advance.
Where it takes place
Piazza Sante Aureli, in the center of Moricone, featuring a covered and heated marquee. The municipal library in Piazza Sforza Cesarini hosts some musical events.
Tips
Most events take place outdoors in the middle of winter: warm clothing is recommended. Parking is available in areas outside the historic center, which is largely pedestrianized during the festival days.
