Model Hobby Rome: model-making takes center stage in the Capital

Model Hobby Rome is the fair dedicated to the world of model-making held in Rome, within the spaces of the former ATAC depot in San Paolo, on Via Alessandro Severo, in the VIII Municipality of the City of Rome. Launched in 2025, the event has quickly established itself as one of the most anticipated gatherings in the Lazio region for fans of layouts, dioramas, and scale reproductions, attracting exhibitors, associations, and visitors from across the country. Admission is completely free, and the event is designed for connoisseurs, families, and children alike.

A miniature journey through railways, dioramas, and historical reconstructions

The heart of the fair is railway modeling: over 150 meters of layouts with moving trains transform the depot's warehouses into a true scale landscape. Among the most admired pieces are large operational dioramas and surprising historical reconstructions, such as the reproduction of the Colosseum in ancient times. There are also high-level modular displays, such as the 1:120 scale layout created by participating associations, a miniature journey through Italian landscapes featuring stations, viaducts, countryside glimpses, and constantly moving trains.

Static, military, and naval modeling, LEGO, and Mini4WD

Alongside railways, Model Hobby Rome dedicates ample space to all other disciplines in the sector. Visitors can admire areas reserved for static modeling, featuring detailed reproductions of aircraft, ships, military vehicles, cars, and figurines. There is also great interest in the LEGO sections and the Mini4WD tracks, which particularly engage young people and families. The event thus brings together, under one roof, the main pillars of model-making: railway, static, military, and naval.

The event is organized by FRA – Fermodellisti Romani Associati, the network that brings together the main modeling clubs and circles of the Capital, with the patronage of the City of Rome, the VIII Municipality, and sector federations. Groups and associations from all over Lazio and the rest of Italy participate in the fair, showcasing months of patient construction work and sharing techniques, secrets, and a passion for scale hobbies with the public.
