The 1000 Miglia, described by Enzo Ferrari as "the most beautiful race in the world," is the famous re-enactment of the historic regularity race that has connected Brescia to Rome and back since 1927. Every year, its caravan of vintage cars travels across Italy, and Ronciglione, a town in the province of Viterbo nestled in the Tuscia region, stands out as one of the most beloved stops on the Lazio route. For about thirty years, the so-called "Red Arrow" has passed through the village, with the traditional time control in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the beating heart of the event.

A thirty-year bond with the village

The Municipality of Ronciglione has participated in the re-enactment since 1995: in 2025, the town celebrated thirty years of this bond, making it one of the most loyal stops on the route to the Capital, a traditional turning point for the race. The historic cars pass through the stunning setting of the Lake Vico Nature Reserve, with vehicles parading between Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and Viale Garibaldi, welcomed by citizens, visitors, and car enthusiasts from all over the province.

Motors, history, and spectacle

Each edition brings over four hundred crews from dozens of nations to Ronciglione, driving cars that made automotive history: Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Ferrari, Mercedes, and many other jewels built before 1957, the year the original Mille Miglia was last run. The procession is opened by the Ferrari Tribute, the parade of modern Prancing Horse cars that precedes the historic race cars. There is no shortage of drivers, sports champions, and famous faces among the crews, making the passage a true spectacle for all ages.

Perched on the southern heights of the Cimini Mountains, just a few kilometers from Lake Vico, Ronciglione is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Lazio. Its historic center, with its typical tuff buildings, the Castello della Rovere (the famous "towers"), the Unicorn Fountain, and Baroque churches, offers an exceptional backdrop for the passage of vintage cars.
