About MuD

From April 21st to 23rd, 2026, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, in the heart of Città Studi, hosts the third edition of MuD – Milano University District, a festival conceived by students from the Politecnico and the Università Statale of Milan. Three days of exhibitions, talks, culture, and free admission performances, themed 'And he dreamed of freedom,' a verse by Lucio Dalla. Four exhibitions with panels illustrated by volunteer students, daily afternoon talks on stage, and evening performances, culminating in a closing concert. Organized with Pivot ODV.

The festival born from students

MuD – Milano University District is the student festival of Città Studi, Milan's university district (Municipality 3, City of Milan, Lombardy). The third edition takes place from April 21st to 23rd, 2026 in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, conceived and organized by students from the Politecnico and the Università Statale of Milan, with the support of Pivot ODV.

Three days of culture and meeting

The festival offers three days of exhibitions, talks, culture, and entertainment with free admission, open to the entire city. The 2026 edition revolves around the theme 'And he dreamed of freedom', a verse by Lucio Dalla, and features four exhibitions with panels illustrated by volunteer students.

Talks and performances

Each afternoon, the stage hosts open discussions: on April 21st about prisons and rehabilitation through responsibility; on April 22nd dedicated to Pier Giorgio Frassati, on the centenary of his death; on April 23rd a reflection on Aleksej Navalny and freedom without lies. Every day at 5:30 PM, a discussion on 'Free from work or free in work?', concerning the professional future of young people.

The evenings

Evening performances begin at 9:00 PM: on April 21st, a live podcast about the 'Via Panisperna Boys'; on April 22nd, a play based on Graham Greene; and on April 23rd, the closing with a live music performance. A festival that blends commitment, culture, and celebration, born from a question and grown into an opportunity for students and the neighborhood to connect.
