Three days of outdoor cinema, talks, and music in the green spaces of Porta Nuova
Fuoricinema is one of the most anticipated events of the Milanese late summer: a grand outdoor cinema festival that every September enlivens the BAM - Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano, the contemporary park in the heart of the Porta Nuova district (Municipality 9, City of Milan, Lombardy), along with the IBM Studios spaces. Three free evenings of screenings, talks, and music that have attracted over 100,000 spectators over the years.
The program intertwines preview screenings directly from the Venice Film Festival, with directors and cast on stage, with talks, testimonials, and entertainment moments. At the heart of the event has always been a focus on human, social, and civil rights, explored through the language of cinema and contemporary culture. The artistic direction brings together important names from Italian cinema and culture, including Cristiana Capotondi, Lionello Cerri, Gino & Michele, Mauro Pagani, Gabriele Salvatores, and Paolo Baldini.
The guiding principle of Fuoricinema is that of culture accessible to all, understood as the foundation for collective growth and social coexistence. The evening screenings under the park sky, with the skyline of Porta Nuova's skyscrapers in the background, create a unique atmosphere that has made the festival a symbol of contemporary Milan.
The eleventh edition of Fuoricinema is held from September 11 to 13, 2026, at BAM - Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano and IBM Studios, in the Porta Nuova district. The event, conceived by Cristiana Mainardi and Cristiana Capotondi along with the artistic direction composed of Lionello Cerri, Gino & Michele, Mauro Pagani, Silvia Posa, Gabriele Salvatores, and Paolo Baldini, confirms its formula of three days of talks, outdoor screenings, and festive moments.
In 2026, the screenings will again feature films directly from the Venice Film Festival, with directors and cast present. Admission is free.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including film titles and guests, will be published on www.fuoricinema.com in the weeks preceding the event.
