The festival for children and families in the heart of Valsesia
From June 19th to 21st, 2026, the Municipality of Campertogno, in the province of Vercelli, hosts the first edition of Mi racconti una storia?, a festival entirely dedicated to children and families. For three days, the Valsesia village, with its historic centre overlooking the Sesia River, becomes a large, widespread stage: squares, alleys, and hamlets fill with voices, images, and workshops designed for the little ones.
The festival's title evokes one of the oldest and most precious educational gestures: stopping, listening, sharing words and images, and leaving room for children's creativity. The programme weaves together kamishibai (the ancient Japanese art of paper theatre), creative workshops, theatre, music, and animated storytelling: experiences to listen to, touch, and create, designed to stimulate curiosity, imagination, and manual skills.
More than just a simple event, Mi racconti una storia? is an opportunity for socialising for families and a celebration for the community. The festival highlights Campertogno as a place capable of hosting culture, play, and new experiences for children, while also engaging with the Municipality's "Memory Bank" and the local traditions of Valsesia.
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Campertogno in collaboration with Storiloco, with the patronage of the Regional Council of Piedmont, the Province of Vercelli, and the Unione Montana dei Comuni della Valsesia. A project that brings storytelling and creativity to one of the most evocative valleys in Piedmont.
