The evening run through the vineyards of the Novara region, part of the Gamba d'Oro circuit
Mezzomerico di Sera is the signature evening running event in Mezzomerico, a small hillside village in the Province of Novara, in the heart of Upper Piedmont. As part of the famous Gamba d'Oro del Novarese circuit, this non-competitive race is open to all, attracting walkers, amateur runners, and families every year for an evening of sport and community, set against the backdrop of the sun dipping behind the vine-covered hills.
The course is one of the most picturesque in the calendar: it winds almost entirely through vineyard rows and the rolling hills surrounding the village, offering classic views of the rural landscape of Novara. Two routes are available:
The maximum time to complete the run is one and a half hours. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions.
Mezzomerico di Sera is a qualifying event for the Gamba d'Oro del Novarese, a historic circuit of non-competitive runs that has enlivened the evenings and Sundays of towns between the provinces of Novara and Vercelli for decades. Participating in the Mezzomerico stage means becoming part of a great popular sporting tradition in Upper Piedmont, built on friendship, healthy competition, and a love for the local area.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Mezzomerico, with the support of the local municipality and village associations. Beyond the run, the evening is an opportunity to gather, discover an authentic corner of the Novara countryside, and enjoy the festive atmosphere that accompanies every stage of the circuit. The meeting point and start are at the Municipal Sports Field on Via Oleggio.
Non-competitive race open to all, valid as a stage of the Gamba d'Oro del Novarese circuit. The route winds through the rows of the Mezzomerico hills, with the event guaranteed regardless of weather conditions.
Maximum time: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Route through the vineyards and hills of Novara.
Mezzomerico is located in the Province of Novara, in Upper Piedmont, a short distance from the Marano Ticino-Oleggio motorway exit (A26). The meeting point is the Municipal Sports Field at Via Oleggio 4.
Meeting from 6:00 PM, registration from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM. Start of the long route at 8:00 PM, short route at 8:10 PM. Finish line closes at 9:30 PM.
Low entry fee (approximately 3-4 euros), to be paid on-site. A non-competitive medical certificate is required for the competitive routes.
