A walk among olive trees and a snack of typical products in Parco San Paolino in Falerone
Merenda nell'Oliveta is the event that, every year in June, brings citizens and visitors to rediscover the deep connection between the village of Falerone and its olive-growing landscape. We are in the province of Fermo, in the heart of the Marche region, in a land where olive trees have shaped the hills for centuries, telling the story of farming families. The initiative was created to enhance this heritage through a simple and authentic experience: a walk, a shared snack, a few words dedicated to olive oil.
The route begins in Contrada Cerretino, from where a nature walk starts among the olive groves lining the path. It's an itinerary accessible to everyone, designed for families and the curious, which crosses the olive groves of local farms to reach Parco San Paolino, at Azienda Agricola Cruciani. Here, in the shade of the olive trees, the actual snack takes place.
The arrival at the park is the most anticipated moment: the traditional snack in the olive grove features tricolour bruschetta and other typical local products, with guided tastings of local extra virgin olive oil. Along the entire route and during the snack, readings of poetry and prose dedicated to olive oil and olive trees are interspersed, adding a cultural and emotional dimension to the experience.
Merenda nell'Oliveta is promoted by the National Association Città dell'Olio (Cities of Oil), which annually involves numerous municipalities across Italy, including several locations in the Marche region. This edition is part of a national calendar that spans several weeks in spring and summer, with the patronage of bodies such as the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and ENIT. In Falerone, the local organization curates the day in collaboration with the area's agricultural businesses.
In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to a later date.
The 2026 edition of Merenda nell'Oliveta in Falerone will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as part of the national event promoted by the National Association Città dell'Olio, also dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, with the olive tree as a symbol of community and peace.
The day combines nature, taste, and culture amidst the hills of the Fermo area, involving local farms and the community of Falerone.
