The lavender festival of the Aso Valley, in Monte Vidon Combatte
Every year, at the beginning of summer, the medieval village of Monte Vidon Combatte โ a small municipality in the province of Fermo, in the Marche region โ turns purple and fills with the unmistakable scent of lavender. It is the time of Lavandaso, the lavender festival of the Aso Valley, which in 2026 will reach its 14th edition.
The event was born with a precise objective: to promote the cultivation, uses, and diffusion of lavender and other medicinal plants, in a hilly area that has always lived by agriculture. But Lavandaso is much more than a simple exhibition: it is a day of celebration that aims to evoke the flavors, scents, and customs of an ancient and deep-rooted peasant tradition, that of sharecropping that has shaped the landscape of the Valdaso.
The heart of the festival is the historic center of the town, which for the occasion comes alive with stalls and initiatives. Along the alleys, you will find the market of local agricultural and artisanal products, with lavender as the protagonist in all its forms: bunches, distillates, essential oils, soaps, and flavored baked goods.
The now-tested formula combines attention to biodiversity and slow tourism with the typical conviviality of Marche village festivals, where food, music, and hospitality are at home.
Lavandaso is organized by the Municipality of Monte Vidon Combatte in collaboration with the local Pro Loco and the Agrituraso-Marche association, entities that promote quality agriculture and integrated relational tourism in the Aso Valley. Admission is free.
For those visiting the Marche region of Fermo in the summer, it is the ideal opportunity to discover an authentic village, far from the beaten paths, and to bring home the scent of a land that has made lavender a small symbol of identity.
For 2026, Lavandaso celebrates its 14th edition, scheduled for Sunday, June 21 in Monte Vidon Combatte (Fermo), during the lavender blooming season. The festival promotes, in addition to lavender, the agricultural and artisanal productions of the Aso Valley, animating the historic center with markets, workshops, and entertainment.
Organized by the Municipality of Monte Vidon Combatte with the Pro Loco and the Agrituraso-Marche association, the event confirms its formula combining peasant culture, biodiversity, and conviviality. Admission is free.
The detailed program for the 14th edition will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event. Based on past editions, the day typically includes:
