The stage of the Festival dell'Appennino in the village of the coppersmiths of Force
Battiti di Rame con i Pupazzi is the stage that the Festival dell'Appennino dedicates to Force, a small municipality in the Province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region, nestled among the hills of the central Apennines near the Sibillini Mountains. The event, initially scheduled for May 10, 2026, has been postponed to Saturday, June 13, 2026, due to adverse weather conditions.
Force is known as the "village of the coppersmiths": here, the artistic working of copper is an ancient and still living tradition. According to a statistic from 1892, there were as many as 28 coppersmith workshops with 66 workers in the village, and their products โ cauldrons, pumps, containers for cooked wine โ were appreciated and sold at fairs throughout Central Italy. Today, this heritage is preserved in the Museo dei Ramai (Coppersmiths' Museum), set up between the former church of San Biagio and Palazzo Canestrari, which also houses the Museo Sistino di Arte Sacra (Sistine Museum of Sacred Art). It is this identity that inspires the title of the event, where the "beats" of the hammer on copper dialogue with the beats of the music.
The day follows the typical formula of the Festival dell'Appennino, which combines walking, territory discovery, and entertainment:
The event in Force is part of the traveling review Festival dell'Appennino, promoted by BIM Tronto, which in 2026 crosses the central Apennines from May to October with dozens of events spread across numerous municipalities in Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio, and Umbria. The common thread is always the same: walking together to rediscover the villages of the hinterland, enhance their natural and cultural heritage, and support the territories affected by the 2016 earthquake. Admission to the events is free, with mandatory registration for the excursion.
Following the postponement from May 10 due to adverse weather conditions, the Force stage of the Festival dell'Appennino is back on the calendar for Saturday, June 13, 2026. The program unfolds in the afternoon and evening, with a panoramic excursion in the surroundings of the village, a convivial moment dedicated to local gastronomy, the evening opening of Force's museums, and the concluding concert entrusted to the group i Pupazzi. Admission is free; registration for the excursion is mandatory on the Festival's official website.
Detailed timings for the day will be published on the official website festivaldellappennino.it closer to the event.
