Meldola's Carnival celebration in Piazza Felice Orsini
The Meldola Carnival is the cheerful Carnival party that every year transforms the historic center of Meldola, a charming town in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna. The heart of the event is the spectacular Piazza Felice Orsini, which for an entire afternoon fills with masks, confetti, music, and laughter, involving children, families, and adults in a contagious festive atmosphere.
The day revolves around the masked parade, the most anticipated moment of the event, which concludes with awards for the most beautiful, creative, and original costumes. Parading through the streets of the center is also the float created by the "Le Trappole" group, a true symbol of the Meldola Carnival. Around the square, a rich program of activities designed for all age groups unfolds.
There is also a food stand with typical seasonal treats: crêpes, hot chocolate, popcorn, cotton candy, waffles, and the delicious fried piadina from the Pro Loco, perfect for warming up the festive afternoon.
The Meldola Carnival is a highly participatory event, an expression of the town's associative fabric. It is promoted by Pro Loco Città di Meldola together with the Municipal Administration, the Meldola Christian Community, the local school parent committees, and numerous local associations (including ACR, CIAC, Masci, AVIS, Dream Dance School, and Medusa Eventi). Admission is free, confirming the popular and inclusive nature of the celebration, which perfectly represents the convivial spirit of Romagna.
