The festival of the Taggiasca olive and the flavours of the Argentina valley
Meditaggiasca & Expo Valle Argentina Armea is the event that promotes the typical products of the Argentina and Armea valleys, in the municipality of Taggia (province of Imperia). The absolute star is the Taggiasca olive and its precious extra virgin olive oil, accompanied by another local excellence, the Moscatello di Taggia.
The historic centre hosts a rich programme of cooking shows, tastings, workshops, competitions, and a producers' market. There is also a street food corner, with local specialities such as Taggiasca-style fried food, Ceriana sausage, and traditional Ligurian dishes. Among the guests in recent editions were well-known faces such as Luca Pappagallo and Renata Briano.
Organised by the Municipality of Taggia together with the Chamber of Commerce Riviere di Liguria, Meditaggiasca is a showcase dedicated to the excellent productions of the Imperia hinterland. An opportunity to discover a territory where olive oil, wine, and gastronomic traditions tell centuries of peasant culture.
The 13th edition was held on May 1st and 2nd, 2026 in the historic centre of Taggia. The event celebrated the excellent products of the Argentina and Armea valleys, with the Taggiasca olive and the Moscatello di Taggia at its core.
The programme included cooking shows, tastings, workshops, competitions, and a producers' market, enhanced by a new street food corner with local specialities (Taggiasca-style fried food, Ceriana sausage, Ligurian dishes). Guests included Luca Pappagallo and Renata Briano.
