The Marineo Music Festival

The Music Festival is the premier summer musical event in Marineo, a small town in the hinterland about thirty kilometers from Palermo, in the heart of western Sicily. Promoted by the Municipality of Marineo with the support of the Regional Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment and the Metropolitan City of Palermo, the festival offers a series of evening concerts in the scenic Piazza Castello, dominated by the ancient fortress that defines the village's identity.

A Journey Through Musical Genres

The festival's hallmark is variety: each evening is dedicated to a different musical language, catering to a broad and diverse audience. From light music to jazz, pop, ethnic music, and even singer-songwriter tracks and film soundtracks, the festival creates a journey that weaves together tributes to the great masters and space for new talents from the Sicilian scene. The artistic direction is entrusted to maestro Angelo Butera, who curates each edition with a thematic thread.

In addition to the main evenings, the festival usually offers several free previews in June and July, which serve as a prologue to the highlight week in August and help build anticipation for the event.
