The night when Marina di Camerota stays awake until dawn
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Marina di Camerota White Night is one of the most awaited events of the summer season in Cilento. For one entire evening, this seaside district of the municipality of Camerota, in the province of Salerno, stays awake until the early hours: the town center streets and the seafront fill with music, shows, and stalls, while shops stay open well past midnight. The initiative is part of the Estate inCamerota program, organized by the local Department of Tourism, Culture, and Entertainment in collaboration with the La Perla del Cilento tourist office.
The event's axis remains consistent: Via Bolivar, the small Simon Bolivar square, and the Trieste seafront, extending toward the tourist port, Piazza San Domenico, and Largo Don Crispino. In past editions, these streets have been closed to traffic from late afternoon until deep into the night, turning the town into one large pedestrian area overlooking the sea.
Each edition features multiple stages across the town's squares: live concerts in Piazza San Domenico, Latin American music groups like Los Reales de Cuba, and saxophone and DJ sets in the small Simon Bolivar square. From 11 PM, the seafront turns into an open-air nightclub; in 2024, the event featured the 'Emme Fest - Summer Edition' and 'Rabiosa - El party mas peligroso' formats, while Francao's DJ set, accompanied by live percussion from Paolo Forcellati (Siko), had already energized Via Bolivar at 7 PM.
The last documented summer White Night took place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, drawing crowds from across Cilento. The previous year, the event was held on Friday, July 28, 2023, featuring a fashion show on Via Bolivar, a concert by the Anima Leggera Duo in Piazza San Domenico, and a final DJ set on the seafront. The format has also been adapted for winter: the South American White Night on Saturday, December 20, 2025, featured a concert by Don Backy in Piazza San Domenico, bringing markets, street food, and Caribbean rhythms to the Trieste seafront.
Marina di Camerota is located in the heart of the Cilento, within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park. The village is known for its port, sea caves, and coves accessible almost exclusively by boat, making it one of the most popular seaside destinations in the province of Salerno, in Campania. The White Night is the moment when this town experiences its most festive atmosphere, as thousands of vacationers are joined by visitors from neighboring towns.
All White Night shows have always been free of charge. The atmosphere is family-friendly in the early hours of the evening, when the center is animated by jugglers, stilt walkers, and parades, and becomes more youth-oriented after midnight, when the seafront transforms into a dance floor. No ticket is required: simply arrive in town and let the music guide you.
The Estate inCamerota 2026 program, curated by the Municipality of Camerota's Department of Tourism, Culture, and Entertainment, lists the Salerno Danza Festival at the Teatro Kamaraton, the Gusto Italia fair at the Marina port, the Scarlatti Orchestra concerts, and the 'A Prescindere' festival in Piazza San Domenico for July, but does not mention any White Night. The 2026 event calendar published by the local portal also makes no mention of it.
In previous editions, the evening took place between Via Bolivar, the small Simon Bolivar square, Piazza San Domenico, and the Trieste seafront, featuring craft markets, fashion shows, street performers, food stands at the port, live concerts, and, after 11 PM, open-air DJ sets on the seafront. Local shops remain open past midnight.
Since the 2026 date has not yet been announced, it is advisable to check the channels of the Municipality of Camerota and the La Perla del Cilento tourist office before planning your trip.
By car: From the A2 'Autostrada del Mediterraneo', take the exit for Battipaglia and continue on the SS18 and SS562 roads to Marina di Camerota; from Sapri, follow the coast north on the SS562. By train: The most convenient stations are Centola-Palinuro-Marina di Camerota and Pisciotta-Palinuro, on the Tyrrhenian line, connected to the town by local buses. By plane: Naples Capodichino Airport (approx. 170 km) and Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport (approx. 110 km).
During the White Night, Via Bolivar, Via Comite, and the Trieste seafront are closed to traffic for the entire evening. It is advisable to leave your car in the parking areas at the entrance to the town and reach the center on foot. On busy nights, parking lots fill up quickly, so arriving early is recommended.
Admission to all shows, markets, and musical areas is free. Only food and drinks at stands and local establishments are subject to payment.
