About Strasapori

Every year in mid-August, the village of Pattano transforms into the gastronomic crossroads of the Cilento region. Strasapori, the International Street Food Festival, brings around thirty stalls and over a hundred Italian and international specialties to the village streets. Over three evenings, local Cilento dishes meet Mediterranean, Asian, American, and African flavors, accompanied by live concerts, traditional dances, and performances. It is a staple of the summer in Vallo della Lucania, in the Province of Salerno, blending taste, music, and curiosity for world cultures.

Strasapori, the international street food festival

Some events are born to tell the story of a region and end up telling the story of the entire world. Strasapori is one of them: every year in mid-August, the small village of Pattano, in the Municipality of Vallo della Lucania (Province of Salerno, Campania), becomes a crossroads of culinary cultures. The village streets fill with stalls, aromas, and different languages, and for three evenings, the Cilento hinterland turns into a small capital of international street food.

Thirty stalls, over a hundred specialties

The heart of the event is the 'path of taste': about thirty stalls lined up along the village streets, each dedicated to a different cuisine. Alongside traditional Cilento dishes, you will find Mediterranean, Asian, American, and African offerings, totaling over one hundred Italian and international specialties. It is a rare opportunity, in a village of just a few hundred inhabitants, to travel the world in a single evening.

  • Cilento and Campanian cuisine, prepared according to home recipes
  • Mediterranean specialties, from North African flavors to those of the Near East
  • Asian and American street food, among the most popular with younger crowds
  • African offerings, bringing spices and preparations rarely seen in Cilento
  • Desserts, beers, and drinks available until late at night

Music, dance, and performances under the stars

Strasapori is not just a food festival. Each evening is accompanied by live concerts, traditional dances, and performances that reflect the cultures represented at the stalls: folk music from Southern Italy alternates with ethnic rhythms and more contemporary sounds. The event opens every evening around 7:30 PM, when the village begins to fill up, the lights turn on along the path, and queues form quickly in front of the most popular stalls.

A village that opens up to visitors

Pattano is a village in the hinterland of Vallo della Lucania, one of those places that live at a very slow pace in winter and fill up with returning locals and visitors in summer. During the festival, the small squares and alleys become open-air dining rooms: you eat standing up, sit on steps, or share a table with strangers. It is this village atmosphere, far removed from large city festivals, that gives Strasapori its unique character.

Sustainability and local products

For several editions, the organizers of the Strasapori Association have focused on two themes: the environmental sustainability of the event, with attention to waste management and the materials used at the stalls, and the promotion of local producers, who are involved in supplying Cilento raw materials. The result is an event that promotes international cuisine without forgetting the agricultural and food identity of Cilento, the land of the Mediterranean diet.

Ten editions of Strasapori

The event has grown year after year to become one of the most anticipated summer appointments in Cilento: 2024 marked the eighth edition, 2025 the ninth, and in 2026 the festival reaches the milestone of its tenth edition, scheduled from August 11th to 13th. The formula, however, remains unchanged: three consecutive evenings close to Ferragosto, international stalls, music, and an audience arriving from the entire district, the Cilento coast, and neighboring towns.

Why it is worth visiting

Strasapori is suitable for everyone: families with children, groups of friends, and food lovers who want to taste many things on a budget. We recommend arriving early, right after the stalls open, to avoid the longest queues and to have time for a first reconnaissance lap before choosing. Those staying on the coast, between Ascea, Pisciotta, and Casal Velino, can combine the evening in Pattano with a day at the beach: the distance is short, and the drive inland offers a beautiful view of the Cilento hills.

Strasapori — edition 2026

The tenth edition of Strasapori takes place in Pattano, a village of Vallo della Lucania, from August 11th to 13th, 2026. Three evenings of international street food festival with about 30 stalls and over 100 Italian and international specialties: Cilento dishes alongside Mediterranean, Asian, American, and African offerings. Stalls open every evening at 7:30 PM and the path of taste is accompanied by concerts, traditional dances, and performances until late at night.

Strasapori 2026: the tenth edition

From August 11th to 13th, 2026, the village of Pattano, in the Municipality of Vallo della Lucania (Province of Salerno, Campania), hosts the tenth edition of Strasapori, the international street food festival organized by the Strasapori Association. An important milestone for an event born as a village feast and which has become one of the most popular gastronomic appointments of the Cilento summer.

What to eat

The 2026 formula confirms that of previous editions: about 30 stalls and over 100 specialties from all over the world. The cuisines represented range from the Mediterranean to Asia, from the Americas to Africa, with a large section dedicated to typical Cilento dishes prepared according to traditional recipes. All this along a walking path, from stall to stall, with portions designed for tasting.

Music and atmosphere

Each evening is animated by live concerts, dances, and performances that accompany the public from the opening of the stalls until late at night. The focus on sustainability and the collaboration with local producers remain two distinctive features of the event, claimed by the organizers also for this tenth edition.

Programme Strasapori 2026

Parking is available along the roads leading to the village: it is best to arrive early because spaces near the center fill up quickly.
