Maratea's Cultural Summer
Maratea on Stage - Summer Suggestions is the grand event series with which the Municipality of Maratea ignites the summer season of the "Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea". A widespread programme that, starting from the first days of June and throughout the summer, transforms the Lucanian village into an open-air stage, enhancing the most evocative locations of the historic centre and the coast.
A Multidisciplinary Programme
The festival embraces different genres and languages: concerts and DJ sets, theatre performances, book presentations, art exhibitions, conferences and public debates, sporting events, and moments dedicated to local traditions. Within the programme, there is space for already iconic events such as the Marateatro Festival, the Investigative Journalism Festival, and the Italian Art Tour, as well as food and wine events and initiatives to promote the region's excellences.
The Venues of the Festival
The events take place in the most characteristic spots of Maratea: from the central Piazza Europa to the small squares of the historic centre, from historic villas to public parks. The administration's stated goal is to strengthen the community's connection with culture and the territory, while at the same time increasing the village's tourist appeal during the high season months. For those visiting the Province of Potenza and the Lucanian coast, Maratea on Stage is the best way to experience summer between sea, art, and entertainment.

The 2026 edition of Maratea on Stage - Summer Suggestions symbolically kicks off on Monday, June 1st in Piazza Europa, which transforms into an open-air arena for Giorgio Prezioso's DJ set, marking the beginning of the village's summer season.
From that moment on, the programme unfolds throughout the summer with a dense and varied calendar: concerts, theatre performances, book presentations, exhibitions, conferences, and events dedicated to local traditions, spread across the squares, villas, and parks of Maratea.

- Monday, June 1st — Piazza Europa: DJ set by Giorgio Prezioso, inauguration event of the summer programme.
The programme also includes, throughout the summer, the Marateatro Festival, the Investigative Journalism Festival, the Italian Art Tour, food and wine events, book presentations, exhibitions, and conferences.
