A Farmhouse That Creates Culture

Mare per i Quartieri is the summer program by Mare Culturale Urbano, an urban regeneration project centered at Cascina Torrette (via Quinto Cenni 11, San Siro area, Municipality 6, City of Milan, Lombardy). The farmhouse, restored and transformed into a hybrid cultural center, houses a restaurant, bar, a covered piazza, and multifunctional spaces, becoming a reference point for the west side of the city.

A Summer of Widespread Events

The review enlivens the warm season with a dense and varied program. In June, the calendar features theatre performances, open-air film screenings (like the "Cinemare" program), social workshops, and events designed for an intergenerational audience. Among the most characteristic appointments are "Il salotto con balera per i diversamente giovani" (The lounge with dance hall for the differently young) with Claudio Merli, which brings the tradition of popular dancing to the farmhouse, and the "Parole e punti" (Words and stitches) workshops, dedicated to social knitting.

Mare Culturale Urbano defines itself as a space dedicated to urban regeneration and the creation of social impact, functioning as a hybrid artistic production center with job placement programs for local youth.
