About Milan Summer Festival

From June to September, the San Siro area transforms into the beating heart of live music in Italy. The Milan Summer Festival brings together under one banner the dozens of major concerts animating the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, the Snai San Siro Racecourse, and the La Maura Racecourse: from Italian pop to international rock, from hip-hop to electronic music, it is the most intense open-air season in the Municipality of Milan, capable of attracting tens of thousands of spectators from all over Lombardy and beyond every night.

The Milanese Big Concert Season

The Milan Summer Festival is not a festival in the classic sense of the term, but rather the umbrella term that unites the long sequence of major summer concerts which, from June to September, transform the northwest quadrant of Milan into a European capital of live music. Three major venues are involved, all concentrated in the San Siro area: the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (over 75,000 seats), the Snai San Siro Racecourse (for horse racing) and the La Maura Racecourse, open-air spaces capable of hosting up to 80,000 people per evening.

A Line-up Spanning All Genres

The strength of this musical summer lies in its variety. The San Siro Stadium hosts major Italian and international pop and rock artists, while the racecourses host festivals and tours seeking a large open-air setting. The programming ranges from singer-songwriters to rap, from metal to Latin music, and electronic DJ sets, making Milan the Italian city with the highest number of major concerts during the summer.

San Siro, Temple of Sport and Music

The Meazza Stadium, built in 1926 and a sporting symbol of the city, has also been the most coveted stage for major artist concerts for decades: playing at San Siro is a consecration for an Italian musician. Around the stadium, the San Siro and La Maura racecourses complete a system of venues that makes the area one of the most important live entertainment hubs in Europe.

A City on the Move

The intensity of the season requires significant mobilization from the Municipality of Milan and the Metropolitan City: extraordinary plans for traffic, parking, and public transport accompany the busiest evenings. The M5 San Siro Stadio metro station and surface transport lines connect the area to the rest of the network, making the concerts accessible without a car.

Why Experience It

For music lovers, the Milanese summer offers a rare opportunity to pack an impressive number of international-level concerts into just a few weeks. The San Siro setting, the energy of the crowds, and the atmosphere of the open-air evenings make every date an event to be experienced, whether you choose a major international star or the Italian artist of the moment.

Milan Summer Festival โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 summer season at San Siro kicks off on June 6th with Tiziano Ferro and continues until September with dozens of concerts between the Stadium, Snai San Siro Racecourse, and La Maura Racecourse: pop, rock, rap, metal, and electronic music featuring Italian and international artists.

The 2026 edition confirms Milan as the Italian capital of major summer concerts. The San Siro Stadium hosts the majority of dates, while the Snai San Siro and La Maura Racecourses welcome festivals and international tours. A packed schedule covering the entire summer, from June to September.
