Three days of medieval magic among the Malvasia hills in the heart of Monferrato
Malvagia - Summer Solstice Festival is the event that, on the occasion of the summer solstice, transforms the small town of Casorzo Monferrato, in the province of Asti, into an authentic enchanted village. For three days, the streets and the central Piazza Giuseppe Verdi are dressed in a magical and medieval atmosphere, populated by witches, knights, druids, and characters from distant eras.
The name of the festival plays on the deep bond between the village and its oenological excellence, the Malvasia di Casorzo, a sweet rosé wine that has made this corner of Monferrato famous. Around the imaginary figure of the witch Malvagia, a popular tale is built, made of magic, divination, and ancient rites linked to the shortest night of the year, when the allure of the solstice blends with the local farming and winemaking culture.
The festival offers a rich blend of activities that enliven the entire duration of the event:
Included in the calendar of events for the Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero regions, the festival represents a precious opportunity to discover Casorzo Monferrato and the surrounding hilly landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event originally combines history, legend, science, wine, and entertainment, offering families, curious visitors, and history enthusiasts an unforgettable weekend in the most authentic Piedmont.
