The Madonna delle Grazie Feast and Festival is one of the most deeply rooted summer events in Sant'Egidio alla Vibrata, a town in the Val Vibrata in the province of Teramo, located in the far north of Abruzzo, just a stone's throw from the border with the Marche region. Every year, in early July, the green Parco Madonna delle Grazie becomes the beating heart of the community, drawing locals and visitors from neighboring towns for days filled with faith, music, and great food.

Who organizes it

The event is promoted by the Associazione Madonna delle Grazie, which for over ten editions has passionately curated the park's setup, the food stalls, and the entertainment program. In 2024, the event celebrated its eleventh edition, a testament to a tradition now firmly established in the Sant'Egidio summer calendar.

The religious moment

The spiritual heart of the festival is the day of July 2nd, when the Solemn Holy Mass is celebrated, followed by a procession at the Santuario Madonna delle Grazie. It is the most intense moment of the event, where the community gathers around the image of the Virgin before the evening returns to the festivities with shows and music.

Music, cabaret, and dance

Every evening, the park offers live music, cabaret shows, and dance performances, with a lineup that in past editions has alternated between tributes to Italian songs, local bands, dance school recitals, and comedy nights much loved by the Abruzzo public. Admission to the area is free, and the format is that of a classic village festival, designed for families and all ages.

The food stalls

The star of the show is the food: the food stalls offer traditional first courses, grilled meats, crispy fried foods, desserts, and fresh seasonal fruit, accompanied by local wines, beers, soft drinks, and coffee. It is the perfect opportunity to savor the popular cuisine of the Val Vibrata in a convivial atmosphere, seated under the park's trees.
