The patronal feast of Sant'Onofrio di Campli, blending popular faith with Abruzzo traditions

The Our Lady of Victories Festival is the patronal celebration of the village of Sant'Onofrio, located in the municipality of Campli, in the province of Teramo, in the green heart of Abruzzo. Every year, during the first days of October, this small valley village along the road connecting Teramo to the Val Vibrata gathers around its protector in a festival that combines religious devotion with the joy and conviviality typical of Abruzzo village fairs.
The heart of the celebrations is the parish church of Our Lady of Victories, which overlooks the main square of the village. The building was constructed in 1940 through the initiative of local faithful and, after an expansion, was consecrated on October 30, 1949, by Bishop Gilla Vincenzo Gremigni and dedicated to the Madonna delle Vittorie. Elevated to a parish in 1989 and subsequently restored, the church houses the wooden statues of Our Lady of Victories and Saint Joseph, as well as a large wooden Crucifix behind the high altar, while large stained-glass windows illuminate the single nave with transept and apse.
The festival is organized by the Festival Committee, which oversees both the secular and religious festivities in honor of the Patron Saint each year. The program alternates between moments of reflection and community gatherings:
Situated at an altitude of about 167 meters, just a few kilometers from Campli and Teramo, the village of Sant'Onofrio is also known for its lively community life and the production of the renowned local pepper, celebrated in summer with a dedicated festival. The Our Lady of Victories Festival represents the most heartfelt autumn appointment, where popular faith blends with the identity of the Abruzzo village. Campli, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, preserves a long tradition of patronal feasts and religious rites that make this corner of the Teramo province particularly rich in culture and spirituality.
The festival is traditionally held in the first days of October. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced: it is recommended to check the Campli tourist portal or contact the Municipality for the updated program.
