Top-tier international ITF tennis on the shores of Lake Maggiore
The M25 ITF International Tennis Tournament of Lesa, widely known as the Lesa Cup, is one of the most anticipated sporting events of the summer on Lake Maggiore. It is held on the red clay courts of Sporting Lesa, a club nestled in one of the most picturesque lakeside settings in Piedmont, in the town of Lesa, province of Novara. The event is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour, the international circuit that serves as a springboard to the ATP tournaments.
Founded in 2021, the tournament has rapidly grown in prestige and technical level. Since 2025, the prize pool has increased from $25,000 to $30,000, placing the M25 category among the most competitive in the ITF calendar. The main draw features 32 singles players and 16 doubles pairs, with athletes typically ranked between 250th and 500th in the world, joined by young Italian prospects invited via wild card.
The Lesa Cup is more than just a week of great tennis: it is also an opportunity to promote the Lake Maggiore region, designed for residents, tourists, and fans alike. The event is organized by Sporting Lesa in collaboration with SportWatchers, with the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Province of Novara, and the Municipality of Lesa. All matches are streamed for free on the ITF website and app, while public entry to the courts is free of charge.
Recent editions have featured rising stars: in 2021, Mattia Bellucci took the title and is now firmly in the world's top 100; in 2024, the victory went to Andrea Picchione, while the 2025 edition crowned the young Italian talent Lorenzo Carboni. This confirms the tournament's role as a showcase for the future stars of international tennis, right in the heart of Piedmont.
The 2026 edition of the M25 ITF International Tennis Tournament of Lesa is scheduled from August 17th to 23rd on the red clay courts of Sporting Lesa, in the town of Lesa (Novara, Piedmont). The tournament is officially registered in the 2026 ITF World Tennis Tour calendar, with a prize pool of $30,000. As per tradition, the main draw includes men's singles and doubles, preceded by qualifying rounds in the first days of the week. Admission remains free and all matches will be available via live streaming on the ITF website and app. The draws with seeded players and detailed session times will be announced by the organization in the weeks leading up to the start.
