The LUFT! Festival in Palù del Fersina

The LUFT! Festival is an event dedicated to outdoor experiences that blend nature and culture, held in Palù del Fersina, in the heart of the Mòcheno Valley, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The name comes from the Mòcheno language: "Luft" means air, perfectly capturing the spirit of the event—an invitation to breathe deeply and establish an authentic connection with the valley, its rhythms, and its community.

A project for the Mòcheno village

LUFT! was born from the project "The strength of the minority: rebirth of a Germanic-rooted village south of the Alps", promoted by the Autonomous Province of Trento as part of the National Villages Plan – PNRR (NextGenerationEU funds). The festival is organized by TSM – Trentino School of Management with the Tourism and Sport Service of the Province, ApT Valsugana, and the Glow association, in collaboration with the Mòcheno Cultural Institute, which preserves the language and traditions of this German-speaking linguistic island in the municipality of Palù del Fersina.

Nature, movement, and wellness

The program focuses on movement and direct engagement with the landscape. Starting from the Outdoor Hub in Palù del Fersina, activities span the valley: the Erdemolo via ferrata for adrenaline seekers, hikes toward Lake Erdemolo, the woods and mountain huts, mountain biking, and orienteering. Those seeking wellness can practice yoga in nature along the stream, while nature walks offer a chance to discover local mountain herbs.

Mòcheno culture, music, and stars

Alongside the outdoor offerings, the festival highlights Mòcheno culture with language workshops, storytelling, and activities designed for children and families in collaboration with the Mòcheno Cultural Institute. There are also talks on mountain and regional issues, an artisanal market, social gatherings, tastings, and concerts and mountain choirs. In the evening, the clear high-altitude sky takes center stage with evocative stargazing sessions.

Places to discover

During the two days, visitors can explore iconic sites of the Mòcheno Valley: the Mòcheno Cultural Institute, exhibition paths dedicated to mining history, and the Erdemolo mine, a testament to the valley's ancient extraction activities. LUFT! thus becomes an opportunity to experience one of the most fascinating and identity-rich territories in Trentino in a slow and mindful way.
