About LPV Festival

The LPV Festival (Books, Poems, Verses) is a cultural event promoted by the Municipality of Laterina Pergine Valdarno, in the province of Arezzo, which transforms the territory into a laboratory for listening and sharing centered around the poetic word. Featuring meetings with poets and writers at the Massimo Zanoccoli Municipal Library and the widespread project La Poesia Cucita sui Muri, the festival brings literature into the squares, schools, and streets of the Tuscan Valdarno villages.

A widespread festival dedicated to the poetic word

The LPV Festival (Books, Poems, Verses) is a cultural event promoted by the Municipality of Laterina Pergine Valdarno, in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany. It is not merely a series of book presentations, but a true laboratory for listening and sharing, where the territory becomes a space to experience the poetic word. Meetings are concentrated in the Massimo Zanoccoli Municipal Library of Pergine Valdarno, the cultural heart of the municipality, but the festival also comes alive outdoors, among the walls and streets of the villages.

Meetings with poets and writers

The LPV Festival program brings together important voices of contemporary Italian poetry and literature. Each event features a dialogue between the author and a literary critic, accompanied by readings from the library's reading groups in an intimate and participatory atmosphere. The meetings are designed as moments for discussion on writing, poetry, and existential themes, open to the public free of charge.

La Poesia Cucita sui Muri

Among the festival's most recognizable initiatives is La Poesia Cucita sui Muri, a widespread project that transforms streets and neighborhoods into an open-air poetic anthology: verses printed on colored sheets are posted along the walls of the municipality's villages. The project actively involves local schools, making the word a tool for active citizenship and bringing younger generations closer to poetry.

A community project

Coordinated by the Department of Culture and the Library Commission, the LPV Festival was born from the idea of restoring centrality to the written and spoken word, building a community of readers around it. The event is part of the rich calendar of cultural activities in Laterina Pergine Valdarno, a municipality created by the merger of two centers in the Arezzo Valdarno, and contributes to making literature an opportunity for intergenerational encounters.

Why attend

  • Free meetings with poets and writers from the contemporary Italian scene
  • Readings, critical dialogues, and moments of public participation
  • The widespread project La Poesia Cucita sui Muri throughout the village streets
  • Involvement of local schools and reading groups
  • The cozy atmosphere of the Massimo Zanoccoli Municipal Library

The LPV Festival is an ideal destination for those who love poetry and wish to discover an authentic corner of Tuscany, far from the main tourist flows, where culture is still a community affair.
