About Lowave Festival

For one night, the Lowave Festival transforms Frosinone's Parco Matusa into a massive open-air stage where comedy and dance music join forces for a cause: saying no to violence against women. Cabaret, stand-up, and DJ sets take place under the Ciociaria stars in an evening designed for a wide audience, including families, blending lightheartedness with reflection without ever losing the beat.

A festival blending laughter, music, and social commitment

The Lowave Festival is one of the most unique summer events in the Ciociaria capital: a one-of-a-kind evening at Parco Matusa in Frosinone, in the heart of southern Lazio, where live performance becomes a tool for awareness. The theme chosen by the organizers is violence against women, addressed not with somber tones but through the power of comedy and music, with the stated goal of promoting respect and saying no to all forms of violence.

Parco Matusa, the stage of the Frosinone summer

Parco Matusa is the green lung of Frosinone's lower town: built on the site of the old municipal stadium, it is now the space where much of the city's summer programming is concentrated, including concerts, open-air arenas, and popular events. For one night, the park transforms into a true entertainment village, with a stage, food area, and an audience arriving from the entire Province of Frosinone and the Sacco and Liri valleys.

Comedy and cabaret

The first part of the evening is dedicated to laughter. Cabaret and stand-up comedy open the program and set the stage for the festival's social message: a light, direct tone capable of speaking to a diverse audience and conveying difficult themes without rhetoric. It is a precise choice by the organizers, who rely on popular entertainment as a vehicle for awareness.

The dance night

In the second part, the festival shifts gears and lights up with music: the DJ set brings the sounds of Italian and international dance to Parco Matusa, featuring hits from the nineties and two-thousands alongside more recent productions. A finale designed to keep everyone dancing until midnight, following the tried-and-tested formula of great summer open-air nights.

Why it's worth attending

  • A rare formula: comedy, music, and social commitment in a single evening.
  • Affordable entry and free for children up to 12 years old: an event suitable for families.
  • The charm of a large urban park used as an open-air arena, right in the city center.
  • An opportunity to discover the summer of Frosinone and the Ciociaria region, among festivals, arenas, and events that bring the territory to life from June to September.

Frosinone and the Ciociaria around the festival

Frosinone is the capital of a province that preserves a remarkable historical and landscape heritage: the abbeys of Casamari and Montecassino, the villages of Alatri, Anagni, and Veroli with their cyclopean walls, the river valleys, and the Ciociaria cuisine made of fini fini, sagne, and pecorino. Those arriving for the Lowave Festival can easily build a weekend that combines entertainment and exploration of the territory, taking advantage of the city's strategic position halfway between Rome and Naples.

A lasting message

Beyond the program, what characterizes the Lowave Festival is the desire to use a popular event to talk about respect and prevention. A choice that fits into the path of initiatives that the Municipality of Frosinone and local associations have been carrying out for years on the theme of gender-based violence, here presented in a summer key and open to everyone.
