About Locus Festival

Every summer, the Locus Festival brings one of its most evocative concerts to Minervino Murge, in the Alta Murgia area of the Barletta-Andria-Trani province. The stage is set amidst the vineyards of Tenuta Bocca di Lupo, home to Tormaresca wines, where international music meets the landscape and food and wine culture of Puglia. A unique evening under the Alta Murgia sky, attracting fans from all over Southern Italy.

Locus Festival in Minervino Murge

The Locus Festival is one of the most important musical events in Southern Italy. Founded in 2005 in Locorotondo by Bass Culture, it has grown over the years into a travelling festival that spans numerous locations across Puglia. Among these, the town of Minervino Murge, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, hosts one of the most anticipated evenings each year, set in the spectacular Tenuta Bocca di Lupo.

Tenuta Bocca di Lupo

The event takes place at the Tormaresca wine estate, nestled among the vineyards and hills of the Alta Murgia. It is a place where music and wine share the same philosophy of authenticity: the audience enjoys the concert in a natural setting, surrounded by rows of vines and sweeping countryside, just a few kilometres from the centre of Minervino Murge, a town nicknamed "the balcony of Puglia" for its panoramic position.

An international lineup

The programming for the Minervino Murge stop has always been oriented towards big names on the international scene: in recent years, Tenuta Bocca di Lupo has hosted artists such as Vinicio Capossela, Benjamin Clementine, and other leading figures of the world music scene. Each concert is designed as a special and exclusive event, often the artist's only date in Southern Italy.

Music, territory, and Puglia

Beyond the music, the Minervino Murge evening celebrates the Alta Murgia territory and Puglia's culinary offerings, with tastings of the wines produced on the estate. The Locus Festival is supported by the Puglia Region and represents a model of a festival that combines culture, tourism, and local landscape promotion, bringing thousands of spectators to the region's villages and countryside every summer.

How to experience the evening

The Minervino Murge stop usually takes place on a summer evening, with doors opening late and the concert held under the stars. Given the estate's location in the countryside, it is advisable to reach the venue by car and check in advance for access and parking information provided by the organisers.

Locus Festival — edition 2026

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in Minervino Murge will host Johnny Marr, guitarist and co-founder of The Smiths, for a special and exclusive event for all of Southern Italy. The concert is part of the 22nd edition of the Locus Festival, titled "Play What's Not There," inspired by Miles Davis on the centenary of his birth.

Johnny Marr at Locus 2026

The 2026 stop of the Locus Festival in Minervino Murge features Johnny Marr, the legendary British guitarist and songwriter, co-founder of The Smiths and a central figure in the history of alternative rock. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Tenuta Bocca di Lupo, among the vineyards of Tormaresca, the official partner of this edition.

Marr will perform his solo repertoire live, from the albums "The Messenger" to "Fever Dreams Pts 1-4," alongside classic Smiths hits such as "This Charming Man" and "How Soon Is Now?". The event is presented as a unique and exclusive opportunity for the entire South of Italy.
