About Liquida Photofestival

Liquida Photofestival is the Turin-based event dedicated to contemporary and emerging photography, conceived and produced by Paratissima. For its fifth edition, the festival leaves the center of Turin and arrives at the Real Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri, in the Province of Turin, with the theme "Learning and Unlearning โ€“ (re)writing the rules". Three days of collective exhibitions, talks, portfolio reviews, and editorial projects that give space to photographers selected through an open call, with a curious and free look at the visual languages of the present.

A festival for the photography of tomorrow

Liquida Photofestival is one of the most vibrant realities in the Piedmontese photographic scene: born in Turin from the experience of Paratissima, the festival has made the discovery of emerging talent its raison d'รชtre. No big, established names here, but photographers and visual artists selected through open calls, who bring to Moncalieri projects capable of challenging the very boundaries of the photographic medium.

The fifth edition in Moncalieri

For 2026, Liquida changes home and moves into the Real Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri, in the heart of Turin's southern belt. The event coincides with the reopening of this historic building to the public: the festival's exhibitions wind through the stately halls and internal courtyards, and a guided tour of the monumental spaces is included in the ticket. A way to combine the discovery of contemporary photography with that of a little-known architectural heritage of the Moncalieri area.

The theme: learning and unlearning

The 2026 edition revolves around the theme "Learning and Unlearning โ€“ (re)writing the rules". Under the artistic direction of Laura Tota, the festival invites photographers to question what it means to learn and, above all, to unlearn: to rewrite codes, abandon the conventions of photographic language, and imagine new narrative possibilities.

Exhibitions and sections

The heart of the festival is the collective exhibition "Fuori traccia. Stories of rebellion, identity, and new possibilities", which brings together ten projects selected from themes of adolescence, dissent, identity, and the relationship with the landscape. Alongside the main exhibition, the program is divided into several sections:

  • Full Project: the multidisciplinary project by Venezuelan artist Victoria Ruiz, spanning photography, performance, and sculptural garments.
  • One Shot: a selection of single shots signed by emerging international photographers.
  • Liquida Exhibition: the collective exhibition with dozens of selected authors.
  • EdiTable: the section dedicated to photography books and publishing.

The program is completed by talks with industry professionals, One-to-One portfolio reviews, and awards designed to offer visibility to photographers. An edition that confirms Liquida's vocation: to give a voice to the new generations of photography, here in the territory of Moncalieri and the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont.
