Music and theatre in the park of Villa Marazza, Borgomanero
The Lievi Toni Festival is a summer music and theatre series organised by the Achille Marazza Foundation in the heart of Borgomanero, a town in the Cusio area of the Novara province, in north-eastern Piedmont. The festival comes to life in the park and historic spaces of Villa Marazza, a residence that the Foundation has dedicated to culture, literature, and the arts for decades, and which transforms into an open-air stage during the summer.
The schedule alternates between classical and chamber music and theatrical performances, with a programme designed to cater to diverse tastes. The 2026 edition opens on 11 June with a concert by the LFJ Guitar Trio and continues with several evenings until the conclusion on 27 June. Announced guests include violinist Jingzhi Zhan, winner of the second prize and the audience award at the prestigious 2023 Paganini Competition, and actor Enrico Bonavera, the artistic heir to Ferruccio Soleri in the role of Arlecchino in the historic Giorgio Strehler production for the Piccolo Teatro di Milano.
The festival is linked to the Achille Marazza National Playwriting Award, with the winner announced during the festival's closing evening. This blend of live performance and the promotion of new theatrical writing gives the festival a distinct identity: it is not just about concerts, but also a focus on the spoken word and contemporary theatre.
Included in the summer event calendar of the Municipality of Borgomanero, the Lievi Toni Festival is a high-quality appointment for music and theatre enthusiasts in the Novara area and Lake Orta. The setting of Villa Marazza, with its park and library, offers an intimate and evocative atmosphere, ideal for evenings dedicated to listening and discovering both young talents and established performers.
